Terms of Service
Last updated · June 24, 2026
These terms describe how a SwitchKit custom ecommerce build works, what you can expect, and what we each agree to. By applying for or accepting a build, you agree to the points below.
The service
SwitchKit designs and builds a custom ecommerce system from scratch — storefront, admin dashboard, product database, checkout with Stripe and/or PayPal, customer & order management, hosting setup, domain deployment, email capture, and basic SEO. No Shopify. No templates. You own the final source code.
Pricing & payment
- Builds start at $1,799 USD, quoted as a fixed price after your application is reviewed.
- Payment is one-time. There are no monthly platform fees charged by SwitchKit.
- Payment schedule (deposit and final balance) is agreed before work begins.
- Third-party costs — your domain, hosting, payment-processor fees — are yours and not included.
14-day launch guarantee
If your store is not live and functional within 14 days of us receiving your assets and access, you do not pay the final balance until it is. The clock starts when you provide what we need to build (store URL, listing data, brand assets, and any required access) — not from the date of application.
Support
Each build includes 30 days of support after launch to fix bugs and resolve launch-related issues. After that, ongoing maintenance and new features are optional and quoted separately. Because you own the source code, you may also hire any developer at any time.
What you provide
- An active selling history on a marketplace (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, TikTok Shop, Walmart, etc.)
- Your store URL and access to listing data for catalog import — no marketplace passwords required
- Brand assets, a domain (or willingness to get one), and timely responses during the build
Source-code handoff & ownership
On completion and final payment, you receive the full codebase, hosting credentials, database access, and walkthrough documentation. The code is standard and well-documented. Ownership transfers to you — there is no proprietary lock-in.
No guarantee of revenue or traffic
We build and launch the store. We do not guarantee sales, traffic, conversions, or marketplace ranking. Driving traffic, pricing, fulfillment, customer service, and ongoing marketing are your responsibility — this is a real business asset, not a get-rich-quick product.
Refunds
Once build work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable, as it covers scoping, architecture, and the work already delivered. The final balance is protected by the 14-day launch guarantee above. If a project is cancelled by you before work begins, any deposit is refunded in full.
Third-party services
Stripe, PayPal, your hosting provider, domain registrar, and any analytics tools are governed by their own terms. We integrate with them; we do not control their policies, fees, or availability.
Limitation of liability
SwitchKit is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost revenue, third-party outages, or issues arising from content, pricing, or fulfillment decisions you make on your store. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the build.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The terms that apply to your project are those agreed at the time you accepted the build.
